Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Talk2Gynae ("talk2gynae", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, the Olyvia mobile app, and related services (together, the "Services").

By using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. For our rules of use, see our Terms of Service.

1. Who we are

Talk2Gynae provides digital tools for cycle tracking, health journaling, and booking gynaecological care. We process personal data as a controller for account, platform, and operational purposes. Clinicians who treat you through the Services may also process health information independently in connection with your care.

2. What data we collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect:

  • Name — first and last name (and preferred name if you provide one)
  • Email address — for account login, verification, password resets, and service communications
  • Phone number — if you choose to add it to your profile or share it for care coordination
  • Date of birth — to personalise care and meet age-related eligibility requirements
  • Period tracking data — period start and end dates, cycle length and regularity, flow, pain, notes, and related cycle insights
  • Pregnancy information — pregnancy history and related self-reported details you choose to provide (for example in medical history or late-period self-checks)
  • Symptoms — daily journal entries such as mood, pain, discharge, medications, triggers, and free-text notes
  • Appointment history — bookings, complaints or reasons for visit, messages with clinicians, clinical documents, investigation uploads, and payment status related to appointments
  • Other account and technical data such as password (stored as a hash), gender, past medical history you submit, health-record files you upload, device/browser information, IP address, and activity logs needed to secure and improve the Services

Some of this information is special category health data. We only collect it when you choose to provide it through the Services, or when it is necessary to deliver the features you request.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide cycle tracking, insights, journaling, and appointment booking
  • Share relevant information with clinicians you book or message through the Services
  • Process payments and send transactional emails (verification, password reset, appointment updates)
  • Respond to support requests and investigate security or abuse issues
  • Improve product reliability, accessibility, and safety
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your health data for unrelated advertising.

Talk2Gynae is a Nigerian service. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA) and applicable Nigerian data protection rules. Our lawful bases include:

  • Contract — to provide the Services you request
  • Consent — for optional health information you choose to submit, and for certain communications where required
  • Legitimate interest — to secure, operate, and improve the platform in ways that do not override your rights
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information by law

You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

5. How we share information

We may share information with:

  • Clinicians and care teams involved in appointments or messages you initiate
  • Service providers who help us host infrastructure, send email, process payments, or store files — under contractual confidentiality and security obligations
  • Professional advisers or authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Services
  • A successor organisation if we transfer or reorganise the business, subject to appropriate protections

6. Retention

We keep account and health information for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, meet legal or clinical record requirements, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of personal data or deletion of your account from the app or website privacy settings, or by contacting us. Some records may need to be retained or anonymised where the law requires.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password and protect your devices.

8. Your rights

Under Nigerian data protection law, you may have rights to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion or restriction of processing
  • Object to certain processing
  • Data portability for information you provided
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)

In-product tools may let you request data deletion or delete your account. You can also email us using the contact details below.

9. Children

The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 (or the higher age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided data, contact us so we can delete it.

10. International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside Nigeria. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps required under Nigerian data protection law, including appropriate contractual and security safeguards where needed.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy where permitted by law.
